A Response to a Condenscending Jerk 😃

An English speaking idiot had tried to educate me(!🤣) regarding the differences between the Biblical Hebrew, and the Modern one - without him even knowing Hebrew(!!😮🤣) - while basing his entire thesis upon the fact, that, if Modern English speakers, do not always comprehend Olde English texts, then I do not understand Biblical Hebrew...

Here's how I have decimated him: 😃

Regarding English, you are so right.

But regarding Hebrew, you are so wrong.

Aside from your presumptious audacity, to try and lecture me about reading, and comprehending Hebrew (of which I am an expert - both Modern and Biblical), without you even KNOWING Hebrew(!) = which is even worse, than had I tried to preach to you about Olde English (as I, at least, know the Modern one... do you know ANY Hebrew, at all??), what you obviously forget is that Hebrew was, pretty much, frozen in time for nearly two and a half millennia!! The Jews had pretty much abandoned Hebrew (as a spoken Language) during the Babylonian exile, and had moved to speak Aramaic; the "Second Temple Era" Hebrew, was merely a Literary form of a dialect, never a spoken one. For the Writers of the 2nd Century BCE (Hellenistic Era) Books of "Ecclesiates" and "Daniel", for example, Hebrew was a foreign tongue - and it does show...

All throughout the entire Persian, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantian Eras, Jews had been speaking Aramaic (the more educated also using Greek, later also maybe Latin) in the daily lives, and, later on, had moved on to Arabic, Spanish=>Ladino, Yiddish... or the Language of the countries, at which they had dwelled. And, for all that time, they had only prayed in Hebrew, and also used it at the same manner that an educated 18th century englishman, for example, would sometimes use Greek and Latin, to spice hus Language a little bit - and that's that.

Only during the second half of the 19th century did the zionists, in both Palestine and europe, decided to revive this Language - and so, we do actually have a situation when, as much as the spoken Language is concerned, things had, pretty much, frozen in time = which does actually make Biblical Hebrew closer to its Modern descendant, that shakespeare's English is to the Modern one...

So, as you see: in drawing your consequence regarding Hebrew from English, of all Languages, you have actually merely just proven your own personal ignorance - and nothing more than that.
